Who runs this site
vota.cat is a satire and opinion site. It doesn’t belong to any party, no party pays for it, and it carries no advertising.
- Data controller: the team that edits vota.cat, in a private capacity.
- Contact: info, at, vota, dot, cat. For anything about this site, write to that address.
What we keep, and what we don’t
- Not your answers. Your result is worked out in your browser and isn’t sent anywhere.
- No cookies. Your browser remembers only three things, and they never leave your device: that you accepted the satire notice, the game in progress (until you close the tab) and the light or dark theme, if you choose one. Since you ask for them yourself, no consent banner is needed.
- The server’s access log. Like almost every website, the server logs each visit: the IP address, the page, the site you came from and your browser. It is deleted after 14 days.
Donations
- Who handles them: the Buy me a coffee button takes you to Ko-fi. Ko-fi’s own terms, privacy policy and cookies apply there.
- What we receive: the name you give, your email address and, if you pay by card, part of your billing address. We use them only to keep our accounts and, if need be, to refund you. We don’t publish them, we don’t write to you about anything else and we don’t pass them on to anyone.
- Your views, not on file: a donation to a political opinion site can say something about the person who makes it. That’s why we keep no list of donors and don’t export one from Ko-fi.
- No parties: we don’t accept donations from parties, electoral lists or anyone on their behalf. If one arrives, we send it back.
What for, and on what basis
- What for: what the server logs is used to keep the site running, protect it from abuse and know how many people visit it and from where (the country or city, from the IP address). We don’t build profiles, we don’t cross-reference it with anything and we don’t pass it on to anyone.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and in knowing how it is used (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
- Your rights: you can ask to see what we hold about you (the server log for the last 14 days and, if you bought us a coffee, the payment details) or ask us to delete it, except what the law requires us to keep. Since an IP address doesn’t say who you are, we’ll need you to tell us which address you had and when, so we can find you in the log. Write to the address above, or lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

Satire and sources
Everything said here is satire and opinion, and is, allegedly, alleged. Behind every question there’s a real fact, with a link to the news story or law it comes from. If you find a mistake, write to us and we’ll fix it.
When you open one of those sources, the site at the other end doesn’t know you came from here. We’re not responsible for what it publishes.
